Default Want to Try tuning

OK guys,

I just got my 07 GT/CS and subscribed to this site a couple of days ago and have already learned so much.
but Im still a bit vague on what tuning is? I know what it does but if im running stock should i worry about this?
It seems mostly you guys are tuning since you did some work under the hood. does it pay off to have a stock mustang tuned? will it increase power? will it help fuel economy? (which i rather have)
the gears are also 3.31 which i noticed is a bit less zippy than one i test drove with 3.55s but it does seem to be nicer for the daily driving i do.

Tuning a stock Mustang is a great idea if you would like to pick up a few ponies and enhance the overall driving experience.

Slight increases in fuel mileage is a common side effect of a tune in many cases.

thanks mike,
i was actually going to PM you but being a new guy i dont have that capability.
im also guessing if i wanted to use a higher octane than normal it would give a much greater effect.

Using 93 octane with a tune designed for it is worth a few ponies, yes.
