SCT ITSX users? Questions!
Hey all!
I'm using the SCT ITSX tuner & Bama Tunes. Having issues! Im a "older" carb guy so this is new territory for me.
Bama Tunes seems great with minor updates, but they want a data log before doing anything else. Meanwhile, I'm getting a pile of parts in the garage that they cant seem to tune for without a log. I understand they need the log, but what the heck am I doing wrong?
I am using a Ipad with the tuner. Using a Windows 10 laptop, I downloaded the SCT Live Link Gen 2 program and the SCT Device Updater. Also had to load the drivers from Bama's help section. That all seems to work fine now.
I saved the correct PID's Bama wanted on Live Link. Got them to load on the ITSX dongle just now. Now, where the heck do I find it? Cant seem to find the right directions....Bama gave me a link to the directions but they are for a different tuner
Sooo....did I just buy the wrong tuner? I thought the bluetooth/dongle would be better than a clunky handheld but second guessing that now. Also, Bama Tunes, I'm kind of let down with the results so far. I'm at the track most weekends so I see the difference in each tune & its really not much, if not worse, than stock. I can run 13.50's manually shifting with a HUGE slip into 3rd gear with the mods in my signature. Bama wont mess with trans it seems. If I leave it in 3rd & let the trans shift its running a mid 15 & embarrassing. It seems like I'm getting generic answers to specific questions I ask.
There is one semi-local shop that will do tuning, but I'm looking at $400 for a tune (I need a street & track tune so add more $) plus more $$ for a new tuner if they cant use the ITSX. They do have a dyno, so its a better tune either way. Plus, they said they work on the trans tune - thats where I got the "leave it in 3rd" idea from. The owner is running 11.50's on a mild 5.0/auto so I dont doubt them.
Should I just bail on Bama & go this way?
