just unbolt the filter box and pull it out alittle and the rubber snorkel attached to it that sticks into the inner fender well is the silencer.
just pull it off and you will see just how much of a restriction it is

No. You gain MPG. Taking out a silencer is 100% different than putting a CAI on.
Edit: If you read on down in the mustangword site about removing the silencer, it tells you that it doesn't even feel a difference. In my opinion if no one here can feel the different thats done it, why should everyone else keep doing it. Just but a CAI, gain a few HP, gain better looks, and gain better MPG (instead of worse)
