Alternative?

Alternative?
Would this be a decent alternative to the stock intake? I can throw an aftermarket air filter by K&N for 45.00 to replace the stock paper filter, then ill leave the cap off my air box...
will i lose power or gain power? and can this be bad for my engine>?

you'll lose hp, from the fact that you'll be pulling in hot air from the engine. thats the whole purpose of the filter box. at the very most you'll just come out with the same rating.

O yes and heres a nubbish question... sorry about the double post... a 1998 v6 3.8L doesnt come with a spoiler? im asking this because my "1998 3.8L v6" is supposedly 150hp on the 98 model but the 99' model is suppose to be 190? Mine looks like the 99 on kbb.com not the 98... the owner that sold this to me said its a 98 but then he told me its got about 200 hp? heres the car...can ne one help me out in deciding what year this damn thing is and what my hp is? the engines completely stock but its got some loadness to it... the cat and muffler are all there and nothings after market... if noone can help me by these pics... tell me a good place to check on the car for the year cause i dont have the title yet.. and i have no info on besides what the owner told me... im really hopeing its 190 thatd be a big releif...
