Default another supercharger thread...

Im really sorry but i dont feel like looking into past threads for this answer. If i were to say supercharge my stang whether its a procharger or vortech or whatever, what other mods would i need to make to make the S/C perform at its best? Im just curious because maybe its a cheaper route to go than buying a V8. Also for a 02 Automatic...what kinda number would i be puttin out for say? Sorry for the billionth s/c thread though.

Can't say on HP/TQ #s, but it would be wise to forge the bottom end, new fuel pump/delivery system, larger injectors, different heads/cam, the basic bolt ons, definitely exhaust, and without a doubt a high quality dyno-tune. To get the most out of it, of course. You don't need to forge teh bottom end if you were to run, say 11 psi or lower, probably a little higher, but thats a safe number to go at without forging internals.

You don't need that to go S/C, thats just the stuff that would optimize performance out of a supercharger. If oyu bought a ProCharger kit that ran 10 or 11 PSI(I know they have an 11 PSI kit, don't know about the 10) S/C kit that came with an interooler, you could have that installed and tuned for you car. Ont eh stock motor, too. Wouldn't need all the bells and whistles to go FI, they just get the most power out of Super/turbo chargers.

you can run alot more then 10 psi through the essex, and do a turbo as it will give you more power, justin from VMP is running 17 psi through an internally stock essex, a procharger will probably give you the best power for the money but if you want alot of power go with a turbo

A while back AB priced one out to me for a solid $3,000; but you might be able to find it somewhere else for less.

Hmmmm well it looks like i have something to save up my pennies for. Ive really been pondering whether to go V8 or just make my ride faster. Insurance wise id have to say making my stang faster would be cheaper in the long run.
