What if I went with a GT? I can get a used GT for 7K range, would it be worth it?

 

yes! i would go with the GT if you could. not to diss on the v6, but a v6 is quicker than many rice burners, however, a v8 is that way to go. you coudl get a 99 or 00 GT for pretty cheap now, since the 99 GT is a 7 year old car now

 

Yeah you could get an older 5.0 or a non PI GT. Prolly a better bet

 

What is the gas mileage average for those? How much would some mods cost to improve the mileage?

 

the gas mileage is reletively the same in the v6 and GT models, maybe a 2 mpg difference. CAI and exhaust can help with gas mileage as it can help ur car breath better, allowing less gas to be used.

 

Plus we have members with pretty modded GT's gettin the same or better mileage than us
