Hey I have a 97 3.8, and i am getting nos put into it this summer. I was wondering if anyone new what shot is safe on a stock motor...75, 100, 125???????

I wouldn't go much more than a 75 shot. Better safe than REALLY sorry..

You CAN go with a 100 shot..but if anything is out of tolerance....takin a big chance.

True. I know a kid who used to have an older Ford Probe with NOS. He put to much of a shot in and literally shattered one of his pistons. He brought pieces of it into class the next day.

Damn! Dont want that to happen....well cant aford that to happen so thanks ill just stick with a 75 shot....hopefully get into the mid 14's

Yeah, a kid around here had too big of a shot on his stang (125 shot i think, may have been more), but anyway, the engine didn't like it at all. He ended up freezing the motor and had to completely replace it. So def. play it safe, we don't need any dead ponies if it can be avoided.

What needs to be done for the car to handle a 125 shot

Im guessing to let the pony handle 125 u need better forged internal parts and better heads and intake....but really i have no idea

Thats what i was gonna say is you're gonna have to start messing with the internals, so it all depends on just how serious you wanna get with your car.
