Is it possible???
Hey guys,
I have a 2000 mustang with an engine that is going by the wayside...it has better then 100,000 miles on it and its starting to cost me alot to repair. My cars body is in excellent condition and i have some stuff done to it, body kit and such so here my problem. I want to keep my car but the thought of having a V8 GT just makes me happy. There is a junk yard near my home where i talked to a guy who will sell me an 04 GT engine for 1,500$ (Work not included) Can i make the switch, from V6 to V8? I can take out the engine myself, ive done it before with some other cars but im not sure what else i would need to upgrade or it i can even make the switch. I already have a dual exhaust flowmaster...and i know that the transmission in both is a 5 speed but what else needs to be done? Can it be done? Anyones help would be much appreciated! Thanks

Alright, I'm not sure if there is any kind of sticky or other posts for this, but I'll give you a couple of the things that I can think of right off the top of my head. First, obviously the motor mounts, then probably a wiring harness for it, then the suspension to support the added weight. Thats just a few, it is possible to do it, but from what most people have said, its a lot better to just sell the sixer and use it towards buyin a GT. Hope that helps and good luck.
