Default engine swap...

I did a post about this before but i dont think anyone really checked it...how difficult would it be to switch from a v6-v8...i can get my hands on the engine easily. I understand there are some suspension issues and engine mounts but what else?

Engine replacement, trans replacement, rear end replacement, computer, wiring harness, drivetrain, mounts, and with that much power you will need to replace the rear suspension for sure, maybe front too(do it all at once and lower if you have the money)

Better to just buy a GT, cost less, less labor

What he said, and I'm almost positive that the front suspension does have to be changed just for the added weight of the V8 vs the six that the factory springs are meant for. So if possible just sell your six and use the money towards a GT.

you sure about that? i was pretty positive that the 4.6s used a t-5 and the 3.8s used a t-5 and for autos they used the AODE

you CAN put a 4.6 on the v6 tranny, but it will blow up, fast too. not made to hold that much power.

I really doubt that, ok so 94-98 had T45s and T5ODs and all the autos were the AODEs

SN-95 autos are 4R70
5.0 are AOD

5.0 and 6ers are T-5

96-01.5 T-45
01.5-07 T-3650

it will be alot cheaper to either sell the car and buy a GT or go F/I on your current motor
