Default Cats or no cats

I just have a few quick questions, if I get a header back true duel exhaust with no cats will it be louder than if I ran with cats? and also would the horsepower gains be that different? If anyone on here is running without cats please feel free to answer.
Thanks.

I wonder if anyone has counted the times that some one referred to a catalytic converter as feline cat.
I hope you didnt think that was an original joke.

Cats can cause some restriction in the exhaust flow, so yes removing them would help with the flow, and maybe give you a few ponys. Check to see what the emissions laws are in your state before you do this. If the state just requires a visual inspection, then you might want to look into getting them hollowed out.

I would assume it would be a bit louder without cats.

Take em off.
I live in Fl so no emission control is not necessary. It will allow for better flow, as someone said earlier and it will sounder louder and more agressive.

I am going with stock headers, h-pipe w/no cats, mac mufflers, and the rest custom done so it doesnt scrape the bottom like my current exhaust does, and 3.5 inch rolled tipssss.
