How bad it is on an automatic to shift through the gears. I dont do it that often but I like to do it some times.

1st and second are manual valve bodies, so if you go into the "2" you are in second gear only, the 4R70 is actually programed to do that and by going either 1-2-D or D-2-D around 4500 rpms you can cut second gear loose

with an auto whats the best way in either RPM or miles per hour should i shift from first to 2nd and from 2nd to drive?

Yes, it is short for tachometer. It is the gauge that shows tme RPMs that your engine is running at. Its should be right next to your speedometer. And as far as shifting, anything below redline is alright, thats what the redline is there for.

Manually shifting an auto trans, or better known as sport shifting, is perfectly fine. The only thing is you will want to change your trans fluid more frequently. I shift at around 6300 rpm.

alright thanx for the info. ive never heard of an automatic from another type of car doin this but when i shift from 1st to 2nd it catches. thats awesome
