4.3=Chebby

4.2=Ford

But that is the place to go. I plan on getting one of these instead of F/I. Then 8.8 rear end. THEN F/I, haha. Also, you're gonna want to get your car dyno tuned after you install it/get it installed. If you aren't car literate, then i suggest teh latter of the two.

^ I know. I just wanted to clear up V6 displacements between the two incase he wants to keep Ford numbers. I know I'm weird like that, haha

that's a 4.2L I-6 which is a modular engine and is the parent of the 3.5L I-5 and 2.8L I-4

actually ask Mik at www.rpm-mustangs.com. he knows alot more than me, and makes a true 4.3 long rod engine. Mik is really a great engine builder. Tom Yentzner from super six is a master too but i like Mik. he is an honest guy. not saying Tom isn't as i have never dealt with him. i am sure he is as he wouldn be in business today if he wasn't. but like i said, Mik from RPM is about the best businessmani have ever ran across. he took care of me when he really didn't have to when my I-beam rods were nowhere to be found. he gave me H-beams at a reduced price when he didn't have to.

Justin Starkey from www.vmptuning.com is another honest businessman. they are an asset to the 3.8 community

When I worked for SRC Chevy 4.3L engines were the big things for us to build and test, I hot tested so I dressed the longblock out and fired it on the dyno. All a 4.3L chevy is is a 305/350 with the back two cylenders loped off, thats the easiest most simple way to explain it. It doesnt resemble anything like a 3.8/3.9/4.0/4.2/4.3S SuperSix makes some freakin awesome engines, I would buy from Tom anytime. Just call them up and talk to Tom about the build. Its going to run you in the $6000 dollar range for his best complete engine w/sheetmetal intake. But you can TT it and make 900hp safely

Tom also has budget 4.3L strokers for a decent price.
