I have a 3.9L '04 and am looking to put some safe mods less than 1500 to make 40+ horsepower. My friend suggested headers exhast and intake. Any other suggestions or specific ideas?

 

For i pretty cheep gane in hp you can buy new lighter pullies that are made of alumminum.......however it will not be a drastic jump but it is still more hp!

 

The easiest and cheapest things that can be done to a V6 Stang are a dual exhaust (find the exhaust thread for more info), a cold air intake, underdrive pullies and a handheld tuner. The rest of the stuff after that starts to get pricy.

get gears + t-lok + tuner. gears won't give you more HP, but it'll wake it up more than an intake, exhaust and pulleys combined will.

Diablo Chip seems to work pretty good.

 

it should still be tune, and if you just do nitrous, you still have a open diff, so its hard to hook up with that extra power
