Default Trunk question

Was looking into getting a system (Already looked in the audio forum for this) and I was looking at 12 inch subs. Normally most of them have a 16 inch box, which no way in hell that is going to fit in my trunk. I tried a 15 inch box I had laying around, and that wouldn't even fit. Any suggestions/tips?

most tens have a 14-15inch box also, so I highly doubt that will fit also.

Take it to a car audio shop and have them build a box to your specs of the subs and to fit inside the trunk.

+1 look at my gallery....the kicker demo 02 GT has a 18" solo baric in it....pre-made boxes cost as much as a custom box would and most don't fit into mustang's trunks

when i went in to hook my isht up i got a 12" woofer and a custom made box, annoys cars, turns heads, and sounds bad *** despite the fact that i only have 1 quality 12". so maybe when you go in ask them to custom make a box for you.

My friend has a convertible which has even less space and he managed to get 2 12' subs in his trunk. It's kind of an awkward set up b/c it rattles the hell out of his spoiler but it sounds bass *** inside. Needless to say, he had to make a custom box so that's what I would suggest doing, but it is possible is what I'm getting at. Personally, I have 2 10' and they sound awesome and I still have a lot of room in my trunk, so you might want to look into that. Personally preference I guess. Either one will sound good.

i built a custom box in my trunk. i built it while it was insinde my trunk. so there was no getting it out without taking it apart first. and yes it was a pain in the *** but it was NICE. had two 12s in it. im at work right now but ill have to get some pics on here when i get home.
