i got a 94 v6 auto. i was just wondering in wat gear does the mustang get the most kick. sometimes when im driving ill floor it and its as if there is bearly any pick up and other times when i gas it the car goes like crazy (for a 6er that is) both times when i rip it i am on a leveled surface no incline. i just started actually driving last thursday when i got my license so im a real big fat n00b at this . thanks also i had some 94 gas in my garage (my dad has a **** load of gas tanks) is it really a good idea can more harm come then good?

I don't know about the gas, but with the pick-up and no pick up, it depends what gear the car is in. Next time you floor the hell out of it and its not kicking hard, let off the gas and watch the tac and when the RPMs drop significantly, like 500-1000, floor it again and it will kick hard. It takes some getting used to, but once you get the feel for it, you can do it fairly quick. My 95, and almost every other auto, does the same thing.

94s have no power, but mine i feel has the best in second gear, pulls nice up to 5800 rpms (rev limiter) plus i dont often go over 85 mph

if you dont have a high compression ratio you dont wanna put high test gas in it cuz if you dont have enough compression to burn that high test fuel you are actually gonna loose horsepower and if the gas is old you will definetely loose power because of bad gas does not burn very well so you loose even more power but i drive a v6 5 speed and i feel it start kickin arould 2500-4000 rpms i think this is the average middle point of the power band but i do drive a 2000 stang also

Old gas..yes. I was talking aboot your theory on running premium gas in a car. There's where you went wrong. You do NOT lose power by running premium gas.

Well back on topic, and sorry dude, Harv is right, you're wrong on that theory, BTW, what are you gonna do when ethonol comes out, it runs at like 105 octane, so by your theory, no basic 4 bangers should run on it, but they do. The reason your car fails to accellerate, is because autos will sometimes finish out the gear they're in, with the od on, and it causes very crappy accelleration, best way to get around this is to push the peal half way down for like a second or two, then floor, that's when you'll feel the car "KICK".

what does OD on or off have anything to do with it?
