engine knocks at cold start

my 2004 stang at cold start up knocks...... is this normal and could it be a bad spark plug or a bad injector..............or could it be because of running 89 octaine gas.................when engine is warm it does not knock.........or the noise goes away...........pleae advise

mine makes a sound when it first starts cold like a "ping ping ping" but only for like 2-3 seconds, i talked to my friend who used to be a mechanic and he said it was probably the starter but idk, i havent really gotten it checked out because my stang runs great.
