Default need help

im trying to remove my driveshaft so that i can replace my clutch and was wondering if anyone had any idea how to get the four bolts off that connect the drive shaft to the gear box. we have tried 1/2" and 7/16" torqs. it looks like a 12 point bolt . we sprayed it with WD40 and tried vice grips and it just won't budge. its not like there is alot rust either, so im stumped. kinda sucks right now, so any information would be greatly appreciated.

thanks david

Remove the 4 bolts at the DIFERENTIAL end, then just slide the front yoke out of the tranny.

alright i found the correct size to take off the bolts that connect the driveshaft to the rearend. if anyone wants to know it is a 12 point, 12 mm. so we removed the driveshaft, unbolted the shifter to the tranny and took off the crossmember. a mechanic that i talked to told us that after we remove the crossmember that the tranny would sink which would allow us to get to the bolts on top. it only dropped about an inch and we werent sure if it was supposed to drop any further. we werent sure whether or not there was any motor mounts that needed to be unbolts to allow for a further drop. thanks again for any information

DO NOT disconnect the motor mounts. If you need a little more room to get to the top bolts, just pull down a LITTLE on the tranny taailshaft.

well we tried to pull down on the tranny tailshaft and it really didnt move much, but we got most of the bolts except for 1 left to go and it seems impossible to get. there just isnt any room to work. after we get the last bolt we are hoping that it will drop down. we werent sure if the started needs to come off (looks like there is plenty of room to lower the tranny) and if all this would be easier to do if we unbolted the exhaust after the headers (so far they really havent been in the way except for the last tranny bolt that is on the very top). all we know is that it is going to be a b!@#$ to get the tranny back up and lined up.

thanks again

Well, for the top bolts, we used to jack the tailshaft up a bit and get the top bolts from the top. Try that

Ok so now we have all the bolts off there and its completely loose to the point where the bellhousing moves freely and separates about 2 inches all the way around but it seems like its getting caught on something, possibly the exhaust. We tried taking the Y pipe off but its not wanting to budge and the exhaust bolts are definatly just stripping now.

Weve tried prying and even tried tieing a rope to the back of the tranny and pulling from the back bumper lol, kinda stuck, Any help is appreciated...
