whAt sort of things can i do to get the most horsepower out of the i4? its a 93 if it helps

 

add 4 more cylinders. JK. Go get a turbo setup off an SVO or Turbo T-Bird in a boneyard. Cheap, easy and much faster. We had a guy turn 12's here at RT. 66 raceway by only tinkering with the wastegate on his turbo setup. He had gears and cheater slicks and a stock 2.3L

nope. stock motor, stock turbo, aftermarket wastegate to help increase boost levels. thats all it took.

Of course he pulled the interior out and the sway bar off. Yes he did have gears (I think 4.10 or so) and cheater slicks. Also has a custom exhaust on the car. But motor is stock. Sorry, should have pointed those parts out earlier. But it was a funny site. Big pile of car parts in the pit area from stripping it out. He ran it several times thru the day and spend most of it in the mid 13's. He would come back in and tinker with the wastegate and pull more parts off the car. It was hilarious. He did put a big "4 Cylinder" in the back window with shoe polish to make sure everybody realized it was only half a motor tho.
