Default Gear/posi programming?

i have been talking to alot of people this weekend about gears, they say i dont NEED to tune my car to do gears and it just effects the speedo. is this correct? because i have the gears sitting here but i cant put them in yet, 1 because no tuner, and 2 still awaiting bearing. so thanks

You will either need a tuner, or a speedocal to reprogram the speedometer. When I had mine installed, I forgot to bring the tuner with me when I picked the car up. Now, the shop was aboot 25 miles away, and I had to drive it home and not know how fast I was going. I found out it was aboot 20-25 MPH off.

Won't work on 99+'s. 99+'s are electronically controlled.
