Default problems during acceleration

i have about 67000 miles on my 2001 mustang and it started pausing when i tried to accelerate. i took it to a respected auto repair place that i usually go to and they said it was my spark plugs so i changed the wires and plugs. it made it 100 times better than what it was but it is still doing the stumbling when i try to accelerate, when i get up to speed and stay constant it doesn't do it anymore. the service engine light is on and when i get up to 3000 rpm it starts to blink i was wondering if anyone could help me out with this and let me know what to look at cuz i really don't want to keep spending money on it just to get it looked at! thank you

sounds like a problem i had with my first car, whenever id hit the gas it was like chug or to some extent and then start to go. being that my dad is a mechanic i told him about it and let him drive it, he said it was my transmission than i left it go for about a month and then it wouldnt shift to second and was horrible. but thats what happened when my car did that, not so sure its the same thing going on though.

Take it to like AutoZone or PepBoys and have them read the code out. They do it for free. Bring us the code, and maybe we can help you. You MIGHT have hurt an 02 sensor with fouled plugs..but it's hard to say unless we can get a code from ya.

Not always true. Some earleir cars have a Service Engine Soon light that is the engine warning light. Like the 80's Stangs.

Sounds like the plugs to me.... What type of Plugs did you use? From my understanding, you should only use the Motorcraft plugs. When I took out the plugs in my 2000 mustang an switched it out with another brand my car ran like **** and I got the same blinking light you speak of. So I took it home, got some motorcraft plugs and the car runs great!

B F**KIN S!! I used NGK IrridiumX plugs..with better results then stock. The ONLY plugs you need to stay away from is BOSCH. They are JUNK in the first degree. I have around 30 years of experience in mechanics. The Bosch PLATINUM's in my Grand Am lasted less than 20k miles. There are a LOT better plugs than Motorcraft. But, Motorcraft arent bad either. Good ones include, Motorcraft, AC Delco, NGK Denso, and Champion. There may be a few I forgot. Autolites are mediocre. S**T plugs are Accel, and Bosch.
