Does anyone know where we can get a chip for the 2.3L?

nah Xatrius, that chip is for a car that has a rev limiter in it. my question is how can i/we get more rpms from an engine, ie parts. cause Xatrius their are certian parts in our engine that can only take so many rpms. their are certian parts that we will need to get, but i wanna know which ones they are and what all they are. i know for sure lifters. Hydraulic 2.3 engines. 7250 rpm Rev Limit. thats from racer walsh site. so is it just the lifters or is it the crank, and pretty much all the internals, well maybe u Xatrius might need the chip but i got no rev limiter in mine, thinking of installin one tho. hit 6grand to many times in first gear[X(]

I want to know WHY you'd want to do this.

Mostnes now a days have a rev limiter that's a decent amount above where the engine starts falling off in engine power, and it helps to promote a longer engine life.

More RPM DOES NOT always mean more power/torque.

did i say nethign bout increasin power/torque. but like i said, my car doesn't have a rev limiter. and second off, if u did it right u could make ne engine run more rpms safely. and second off, more rpms i could run safely, the more i could get out of my gears. so see their is logic behind my thinking, but people would prefer to call me stupid and say all i want is power, if i wanted power i wouldn't have gotten a 4 banger.

Your logic is flawed. To get more out of your gears with more RPM's, your motor needs to be making more and more power and not fall off as it increases, which happens to a lot of motors.

exactly, happens to alot, not all. as far as i know, my 2.3 is an exception, the only gear that power really falls out of 5th gear/OD gear. i can hit around 105mph in 4th ticklin redline. i do know when i hit redline that i do lose power, so their for, increase my rpm range, increase 4th gear, therefore increase of speed, hopefully, but this is also a theory. which i wouldn't mind testing. but most likely to increase rpm range would be to change practically every internal moving part in the engine. but i don't know which is why i asked. but as for losin power at redline, 1st gear is the exception to that too. i'm not lookin to increase to over 10k rpms. maybe increase the range to bout 7250 redline. i redline at 5400rpm i believe.

YOu just stated yourself that when you hit redline you loose power. That right there is the engine falling on your face.
