Default Painting Dash

So here is the deal, I really like the look of my stock dash, its clean and flows well. My Mustang has the nicest interior of any car I have had. Here is where things change, I'm taking my car to the next step for shows and want to dress-up the interior. I have ordered a bunch of the bullitt stuff as well as those purdy door inserts form Autobadges.com to replace the carpet on the door panel. I've been restling with the idea of, and I cant stress this enough, TASTEFULLY detailing some of the dash. I found myself flipping through the July 20056 issue of "Modified Mustang" and found exactly what I wanted in their feature car...and it was totally on a fluke as I don't usually read any Mustang of magazines.

Here is a pic from the magazine, notice the silver trim around the center controls and steering wheel. My car is Silver and I think this would look good.

I have some options I could:

1. Get it painted with the matching factory colour, I have a family friend that is a painter for ford and would do it for a 12 pack

2. Buy the brushed aluminum inserts (don't know how they will actually look)

3. Just leave the trim and stick with the bullitt peices

I would like to hear what my fellow MFers have to say?

I've been thinking about painting soem of my dash pieces as well. I have seen pictures and I think it would look nice on my car to have an orange and black interior.

The dash in that pic has brushed aluminum inserts from Huskey Liners but I think matching factory paint with a coat or 2 of clear would look good.

I hate when i see pictures of people painting the interior pieces! U better make it look good, becuase usually it just turns out like rice. Ive seen acouple pics where they paint the door inserts like above, but then also thehandle cups, vents, everything. It looks like crap...

but that one above looks good
