WTF with the T-5?
Am I the only one who notices a "stop" before second gear that's more noticable -and invasive, at that- at higher RPMs? It's like if I'm at WOT and I go to shift to second it takes forever because of that stop. What is that?
T-5 or T-45. I have a T-5 and I don't have that problem, second, and third gear are very smooth, but belive it or not, I have problems getting the car to shift to 4th under WOT, I don't know if I'm hitting the wrong spot and missing the gear of if it's a tranny problem, but to me 4th gear is my problem. 5th on the other hand is pretty smoth, although getting the car in reverse can be a trick at times.
ive noticed lately that when im going from 4th to 5th i hear the gears grind, i know im not grinding the gears because my foot has the clutch to the floor...ive tryed double shifting like put it in neutral take clutch out then go to 5th..but now thats starting to do it to....any suggestions why???
One of the gears may be damaged, or there's something wrong with the clutch, in either case, bring the car to a shop asap, because if you keep driving the car with it doing that the end result may be more money than the fix, not to mention the time you'll be without a car.
i just had the clutch rebuilt like a few months ago...and the grinding only started to happen a few weeks ago. so ill put it in the shop as soon as i can. plus my parking brake decided it doesnt wanna work anymore so i gotta see whats up with that.
Damn, and I thought the GT had problems. If you're having all of these problems occur after you brought the car to the shop, they probably screwed up something, but deffinitly take it back there, because if they break it, they fix it.
almost any t5 or t45 will grind going into fifth if you try to put it in hard. it wasn't made to take hard shifts since it's overdrive and most sane people are done racing by the end of fourth anyway. maybe try to ease it in fifth and the problem will quit. if the parking brake doesn't work, either your rear brakes are worn (most likely) or the cable is screwed up somehow.
to the original poster, do you experience any grinding when shifting to second? i know your tri ax has adjustable stops, but if you can get it into second at all, i would think they should be fine. maybe it's just barely off so it only makes it harder to get in gear?
