throttle body control......common problem.....part is like $60.00...but ....

I would first try to clean it....you can remove it and clean it out
it is spring loaded and carbon builds up inside......get some brake cleaner and spray inside
mess a little with the spring pushing in and releasing.....if you have an air compressor use this also
This should take care of it

does it start then kinda try or get started then die off and turn it over again, then it fires right up?

if i dont hold the ignition very long i have to try and turn it over again and yes it will fire right on up. all this is in about a 3 second period. it used to fire up pretty fast, well faster than now

maybe the starter is wearing out over time or your battery isn't as charged as it used to be, but that doesnt sound like too big of a deal.

i dont literally mean wearing out, but id imagine it becomes less effective over time. perhaps only because of the battery though

weird. my car did it too for a while andi thought it was the battery/alternator and it was fine. so while it COULD be the starter, im still not 100% sure. ive asked across several people and they keep telling me its the battery and its not so im thinking it very well may be the starter but the problem is seeming to getting better now so i kinda stopped caring lol..

nijoma, throttle body control? really? so far this whole time i was thinking it was the starter just acting up

so what everyone suggest to do first? replace battery or check starter/alternator?
