Exhaust Q.
Last year I bought Mello-Tone dual exhausts for my car, I SPECIFICALLY told the guy to give me Flowmasters, but he gave me into Mello-tones. The only reason I didn't pursue it was the fact that I apparently only paid for Mello-tone...
So my question - What would be the best pipe to put on a V6 stang? I hear H is the best, but I would like some input from true mustang enthusiasts. Also, what type of exhaust will get me that nasty *** V8 rumble I hear when I roll up next to my friend Ali's Cobra?

H-Pipe does not make any sense with a V6 as it fires evenly, you would be better off with an X-pipe.
As far as sounding like you buddys cobra....good luck, although you can make it sound nice you will neve match that sound. People round here will tell you Flomaster 40s, Force Flow (flowmaster clones for $30 a peice at summitracing.com), MagnaFlow, or borla if you have extra cash to burn. These are generally what sounds good on the 6ers. I can't really say as I'm just the messenger, I have some Force Flow Mufflers ther just arnt on yet.

And X-Pipe will be the best for me? Do you know a rough estimate of the horsepower / torque I'll be gaining off of an X-Pipe, Flowmaster 40's, Cold Air Intake? I know it won't be much!
You won't even achieve that, it's an "EVEN FIRE" V6, you'll never get an old muscle car sound. Now you can get a great sound out of it for a sixer, but forget about getting that old car sound. I say get an off road x pipe and magnaflows for the win, if those are too pricy, then get flowmaster 40s. H pipes are louder than x pipes, and that's generally why some shops reccomend them as they think that everyone wants to be loud, only catch is that h pipes can sound a little raspy, and even ricy in the upper revs, so you've got to watch that.

lol. You think this will at least make me sound somewhat GT-ish??
Well put it this way, you'll sound like a GT up to around 3000 rpms for the GT, then that V8 sound will kick in, as for you anywhere from 3000-4000 rpms is where sixers, "GENERALLY" start to loose their tone, but some will keep thier sound all the way up to the rev limiter. O/R X pipes are cheaper than high flow x pipes as O/R x pipes have no cats, you'll need an MIL eliminator to trick the ecu into thinking you have the cats so that the check engine light will not come on.

http://www.mustangtuning.com/ sells a steeda MIL eliminator and it's one of the best. A MIL eliminator trips your MIL sensors, which reads the exhaust gases passing through the cats to see if the cats are doing thier job when it comes to removing the bad stuff. Thats why the check engine light on some cars will just pop on, because the mil sensors are showing that the cats are no longer funtioning properly and need to be cleaned, or notifying you that the sensors themselves need cleaning. You have to get MIL eliminator as you'll no longer have cats, so you have to trick the ecu into thinking you still have them. Oh, FYI, you'll gain around 5 hp, and on a sixer, their's not really too much you can do exhaust wise to gain more, hell, even on GTs the difference is like 1-4 hp.
