You take the center console out by taking out the trim piece around the shift lever (if you have a manual you have to unskrew the ****) then take out the 2 skrews near the top. Then open the glove box part and take the front two rubber stops out, and take the skrews out. Then lift the plastic thing out with a little forceful negotiation (not too much though, its kind of weak) then unskrew 2 bolts under that. Disconnect any electrical connections before lifting the console out, there should be about 3 (one up by the DC outlet, and 2 underneath the console). Pull the parking break ALL THE WAY BACK (this is the secret, trust me) and just lift up and back. If you want to, you can get some repair manual (I have a Haynes) and there should be instructions with pictures. If you have any questions about something specific, Ill try to elaborate.

well damn beat me to it, somehow i have a hard time believing the whole cop told you that you can keep racing if you get a roll bar?!?!?! but ...whatever its pretty basic you shouldnt have much trouble.

EDIT: oh and there not screws in the center console thing so no a screwdriver wont work there bolts so youll need pliers or something and there a pain in the *** to get out thats the hardest part of the whole thing.
