Default Shorty Antenna Size

Thought I would ask here as well...

What is a good size for a shorty antenna, is 8" too short? What are standard shorty sizes?

Thanks

I say get a 14", lines up better with the overall flow of the car. Just don't forget to get a signal booster, because I had to uninstall my 14" because my signal strength went down the drain.

Really? So many people say they had no problems. Must just depend on location.

So I guess I can just get a signal booster at any auto parts place, right? How much about?
