We should get our own engine.
I think Ford should design a v6 engine specifically for Mustangs. Does anybody feel weird knowing they are driving a mustang with an engine from a Ford Taurus, Ford Windstar, or Ford Explorer? That just doesn't sit right with me
It should be the other way around - the Ford Explorer uses a v6 mustang engine

i dont agree, but i still think ford should of kept the essex stroked the 3.8 to 4.2 and came up with 4V heads, but then ford would have to explain why a car with 2 more cylinders has 50 less hp

if ford did that, they'd more than likely have a 400HP v8 monster. the v6 and v8 models sell like hotcakes even with their van and SUV engines though.

4.6 V-8, 300 HP, 320 ft.lbs? 5.4 in the f-150, same ratings![&:] .8 L and same HP rating, thats jsut BS
nissan does the same thing with the VQ35DE, the 350z engins it is in a whole lot of there cars. this is just a question but do you think it is exactally the same or is there some minor differences, like headers intake etc...
There would be minor differences like the ones you mentioned and also different tunes. Alot of manufactures do this. Like GM with their LT1 and LS1 engines, Toyota and their 7M, 1JZ and 2JZ engines, and Mitsubishi with their 4G63 engine. Just naming a few. It helps cut down on cost sharing parts. And it works well to. Youd think Ford would have gave the Mustang an improved version of the supercharged V6 from the thunderbird.
