another supercharging question
hey guys im eventually going to get a sc for my car and i was woundering for when i do get it how they act in cold weather and are there any kind of precautions i should take in the winter i would be puttin it on my dd and i have no other cars to drivew in the winter so any tips would be great
Only precautions I can warn you about is to just do the obvious, don't know about where you live, but when it gets really cold check the radiator fluid, make sure it didn't ice, make sure the thermostat is still in good working order by checking the temerature gauge and making sure is doesn't stay on cold all day, that's not a god thing, keep clean oil in the car, watch your spark plugs and wires, check the battery fluid for ice and level. I mean other than that, you shouldn't have to worry about the cold air because that's actually better for an engine, and as long as you don't get on it every five seconds you s/c will not kick in until you hit the right rpm.
i live in md half way between dc and annapolis and i dont usally mash the gas there is really no need to especially in the winter during the winter it gets kinda slick here so in what ever car i drive especially the stang i take it slow but i have not driven this one in the winter yet i had a 2.3 and it was horrible in the winter and the rain
i live in northern VA, a rock throw away from you. my pony loves the cold weather! just don't be stupid on the main roads. keep it out of boost and it'll drive like there was never a supercharger put on it.
