Default Headers?

I have a 96 V6 and was looking to put some headers on my car as it badly needs a little more power. Ive heard the long tube is only good for your car if you have a cat back system because of the backflow. Ive also heard that shorties may give a V6 5 HP at the most and if this is the case its not very well worth the money. I already have a dual 40-series flowmaster muffler system on the car, but the crossover is still the stock H-pipe. Long tube or short tube headers worth it at all with this setup?

short tubes are no better than the stock headers or even the 94 cast iron ones. even LT`s on a stock splitport will only add 10rwhp if you are lucky. you are better off to get a set of ASP underdrive pulleys. less than $100 and can add 7 or 8 rwhp.

also a set of 3.73`s or 4.10`s will really wake the car up. it wont add any hp but the acceleration difference over stock 2.73`s is amazing. throw a T-lok in too

stock headers with the factory cats will be good enough to support mods giving 200rwhp without having to go to LT`s and highflow cats.

don`t waste your money on headers you won`t gain a single hp with them over the stockers. put the money towards a nitrous kit

OK, this leads me to another question then. Difference between the 3.73's and the 4.10's? And also Ive heard that the underdrive pullies will cut down your AC. If this is true is the cut noticeable at all? I live in FL and it tends to get a little hot down here so I kind of need my AC.
