Default Future mustang owner?

I have the opportunity to get a '97 Coup with 104k, kenwood cd deck, tinted windows, a set of both performance and snow tires for $3400. Sound like a good buy to you?

Sounds like a good price. Is it a GT or a sixxer? Check it's CARFAX before buying.

Its the sixer and already CF-ed it. Seems good enough. There's a reported accident from second owner but damage must have been slight because the current owner of nearly 4 years was actually surprised to hear about it because he's never had problems. I'm going to go check it out tomorrow and bring it to a mech and what not. Wish me luck.

Yep. Sounds good. I say go for it. But make sure your mechanic checks the edges of the hood, doors, trunk and roof. If the edges are rougher than they should be, It's been in a major accident involving replacing a body panel and painting it.

Hope things turn out OK. Good Luck!!!

Went and checked it out. Looks nice but as a few thing wrong with it. Most of it is just minor stuff, but the big thing involved the brakes. Not sure but it looks like at least two wheels need new rotors and pads. The estimate came out to be around $900 if all four need replacing. The seller is refusing to go lower than $3200 and now I am debating if i want to say good-bye to him or not.

What say you?

Good luck with getting your stang, be it this one or another... it might be my location and all, but the brake job sounds really high to me. if at all possible, and the car feels like it may be the one, I'd try to take the car to a trusted mechanic to check it out real quick.

Either way, welcome to MF!
