first mod, CAI
got this intake from eBay, anyway
i get started, the first thing i notice is that the intake tube that connects to the TB is a bit long, so the hose that fits into the nozzle jetting out of the tube is too short, so i was just seeing how the tubes fit then i notice the screws provided were just a tad too big to go through the air flow sensor, so i went to home depot, bought clear plastic tubing, 2 small clamps, and 4 good sized screws..
back to the Modding of my intake..
so i get back, hook the tube into the hose (that used to have the plastic sleeve) , fits perfectly, very tight, then fit it onto the T/B intake tube, clamp it, good fit, then i notice that the long tube did not fit correctly into the hole in the fender plate, i took the fender plate out, and put a large clamp around the tube, antoher clamp, then screwed it into the topscrew where the fender plate was in.. fits very tight and now theres just a filter on the end, no fender plate, very tight
the plastic tubing does not do well with extreme heat, although cold air will be going through it, and its not touching anything, i think i will be fine, took it for a test drive, was very cool..
also, when i gas, i hear a high pitched "squeak" almost, is that normal for CAI's?
thx

how did the plate not fit? if its the way i think it is u gotta unscrew the lil leg thingies on the plate and thn screw it back in from the bottom or atleast u only have to unscrew one of them then it fit and u can out the screw back in which i guess locks it in
im confused.. did you build your own CAI from scratch with the help of some other CAI parts? (Ebay sucks by the way, id read their feedback next time if you didnt, if they have even 1 neutral or bad fb, it probably has to do with the product not fitting or wrong product, not their shipping time or ne thing else. They will take your money and send you crap basically lol)
