Default Ford Vs. Chevy Problem.

I have this friend who thinks his car is better than everyone elses no matter what he has. He had a 1986 Beretta Gt, with overly dressed addons. We were gonna race, but waiting on my windshield, he bought a new car, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, which has a 3.8L Supercharged. What the hell am i gonna do next? i want to supercharge my mustang, so i can shut him up for good. Any tips? Also, is it true that Ford electronically de-Tuned the V6 to make it a embarrasing 150hp stock?

The only way your 6er will stand a chance against a GTP is to supercharge it and change the rear end gearing. A couple of hundred a month isn't gonna do. The supercharger alone is gonna run you around $3500.00 plus install and tune, and the gears around $600.00 less tuner.
And yes, Ford detuned the V6 as not to embarass certain "other" cars. The 3.8 can take a lot of power. The block is VERY strong.

so do i need to get like a Superchip tuner or a new Computer or something to wake up my hidden beast? im gonna keep my cracked window on for a few more months while i pack in these extra goodies, cuz if he finds out, he is gonna pack his pontiac to the point of explosion. Hell, he may even put in NOS if he finds out....

Whats first? i know i need to save, but i need a starting point. Also, does CAI make a huge impact? i heard its not worth it. i doubt that.

i found a Stage 2 Power Package. Check this out and tell me what you think.

try to find an old supercharger from the thunderbird 3.8's, they have the same single port setup that will fit your car. theyre cheap, just try to look around in junkyards or something.

Your best bet will be Nitrous, just do to the fact it will give you big gains for the least amount of money. A GTP will out run 99-04 v6, not sure about the 05's though. You will need to do quite a bit to beat him with a single port.

try this and the power pack from super six, then get a bit of suspention and some wider tires with gears and a detroit true trac and you should be fine, you may just have to be patient and save a bit though

you could also swap your car to a split port (99-04 style engines) or get a motor out of an f150 with the 4.2 l V-6 in it
