Default Just installed Flowmasters....

Hi guys, i am fairly new to the mustang community and just recently installed two flowmaster mufflers to my 2003 V6 Mustang hoping to get the V8 sound to it. They cut off my stock muffler and ran two different pipes straight to the muffler. (I also have a K&N intake)

It did not produce the V8 sound that we all V6'ers try to achieve, and for that i am a little bummed out. What else can i add or take off (cats) to make it have that nice rumble like the V8?

And also i would like to purchase a "chip" for my car (it is an auto) What chip is recommended for enhanced performance to a 03 auto???

Thanx guys, much appreciated!!!!

Catback flows sound horrible. Listen to my sound clip. That is how they sound without the cats on, and an x pipe.

When the cats are off, doesnt the check engine light come on? How do you avoid that?

And also, how much does the x pipe cost?

much appreciated!!

MIL eliminators will get the check engine light off when you remove those cats, as far as the chip goes, you should invest in a tuner instead, sct or diablo let you adjust the specs yourself...btw welcome to the forums

Yes they can. But most shops wont take your cats off. I had to end up doing it myself.

tuners will run you about 400 shipped to your door, they are definatly worth getting, im not sure exactly how much power they give you but im sure its worth it.

you will never sound like a v8, and putting only mufflers won't do too much. Gotta do lots more to change the exhaust note..like a cam
