v6 differential
Okay first i'm not sure if i'm posting this in the right thread i just want it to be v6 specific.
I know that the v6 has a open differential which sucks. I guess i need to get a t-lok or possi or limited slip whatever you want to call it. where could i find this at best price and how much of a project is it to do? obviosly i have to get inside the differential so i figure i ought to do my 3.73's in the process. Will someone please give me a rough idea on how i can do this myself,or is this something that i just shouldnt mess with? The more advice the better!

you can get a T-lok and the gears from www.gefracing.com click on their ford racing parts catalog and then 3.8L you will find them there. the T-lok is $169 and the gears are about $195
don't try to do them yourself. they need really close tolerances and will blow out or whine if they are not installed properly
you will need a richmond gear install kit part# RMG-8310451 available from www.summittracing.com for $95. this install kit has everything you will need to do a proper install to ensure the gears last a long time. have a reputable tranny/gear shop install them. it will be around $300 or more to install. don't go for the corner garage $150 install either as the guy's might not give the best install. the rearend needs close attention in an install moreso than an engine. do it right and pay the money for it. it is one thing you don't want to cut corners with.
you will also need a chip burned to calibrate you speedo justin at www.velocitymustangperformance.com can do a chip for you too for about $350 shipped
anyways good luck. i hope i helped
