Default Help cant install cai...

Hey guys i got the ebay CAI i ordered a couple of days back it looks fine. I have an 02 mustang V6 and today i was trying to install it. I took out the stock air intake stuff all the way up to the throttle body. The box thing where the MAF goes into i opened up but it goes through through the air box thing.. i dunno. The kit came with a heat shield, air filter a couple of screws, and the upper and lower pipping parts of the CAI and a random gasket thing as well as some of the seals that cover and keep the parts together. The first problem i see is that the upper tube that is supposed to connect with the throttle body has two outlet holes even though the stock one only has one. I think the bigger problem here is what to do about connecting them. When i look at the expensive kits from bbk etc. they have a piece connecting the upper and lower tubing together i think its called a MAF adapter and the sensor plugs into the top of it... i dont know what this piece is is it stock on our cars..? cuz i definately couldnt see it or is it soemthing that should have come with this cai kit?? Ive never installed one of these cold air intakes before but it seems really easy... so i tried it today and when nothing would fit i just reassembled all the stock stuff and put it back in... it was dissapointing... lol. Any advice, tips, expertise? And yeah i know. You'll say i shud have gone with something that was more pricey etc... but now im really broke so i gotta find a way to make what i got work lol. thanxx guys

your maf is inside of all that black plastic crap that was stock on your car. (the airbox). take it apart again and undo every little thing you can find on the air box. you should be able to find the

Had a exact same problem when I got my ebay CAI and it was just pain in the *** to install and connect the sensors so I just simply gave up and got my money back from seller and decided to get one from autobadges and it came out 179.95 shipped to my door in 3 days!. Love the throttle response! You pretty much get what you pay for and I've learned the lesson[:@]

Haha well its done. Its 4:46 in the morning but its done. It came with screws that dont fit so i had use zip ties to hold the MAF and the lowwer intake pipe together...of course with the gasket in between... i covered the random extra hole up which was supposed to be for some temperature thing which i dont have with good ol' duct tape and yeah.... i took her out for a spin... its wet out so i cant really feel my power unless im in third cuz 1st and 2nd just spin... i think i can feel a slight difference and i can definately hear a much nicer sound as soon as i pin it than before... It was really ghetto puttin this thing in lol... the duct tape i have to find a solution for and the zi[p ties will be replaced with the propwer screws and other stuff tommorow etc. Thanx for your help guys...

find a rubber cork/stopper that will fit in the hole. you can get them at most hardware stores.
