HELP please
i have a 99 v6 and i have a CAI so i thought it would be a great idea to compliment it with an exhaust kit. well i know to get a cat back but im not sure what brand to go with if i want an exhaust that looks good sounds good is well know and is cheap. i thought pypes would be pretty good but i was just wondering if you have any other suggestions. also for lowering my car , if i wanted to lower it about 2 inches what should i be getting new springs of course but anything else? and last thing after cold air intake and exhaust what would be the next best mod to improve my cars horse by the most.
hey man, i have a 95 v6, with my dual exhaust, i went with the turbo mufflers by magnaflow, they are a step down from flowmaster, and are about half the price. I love em', they sound just as good as the flowmasters. as for pipes go, i went with the stock gt pipes. to get the job done right you need to buy either the H pipe, or X pipe, whichever. or the cheap way, you could have the Y pipe cut, and weld straight to them, this makes for a hassle if you ever have to change your tranny. as the other guy said, if lowering, you do need the castor and camber plates. your next mod, that adds a fair amount of hps, is a chip, they can re-tune your air-fuel ratios, shift points, if is an auto, and your govenor. pretty good mod to do.

If your state doesn't do smog checks then get either an off road x pipe or an off road h pipe, here are my top 5 best quality/sounding exhaust IMO, from best to good
1.) Borla
2.) Magnaflow
3.) Bassini
4.) Flowmaster 40s
5.) MAC

Force Pro series mufflers from summit are the closest thing to Flows but sound better IMO.
my suggestion is a GT takeoff with a GT rear bumper and Force proseries mufflers part# FRC-5201 from www.summitracing.com
i can't believe i even reccomend GT takeoffs because of my bad experiences with them but there is no arguing that they are cheap and sound good with Force Mufflers
Chips are old school. SCT Xcal2 tuner from www.vmptuning.com
you wont have the "look" of dual exhaust but if you wanted, you could just buy the 2 force mufflers from summit then have a shop bend and weld up some pipe w/ a couple of turndowns right before the rear axle. its cheap and sounds pretty darn good.
