Today, i was out goin over my cars exhaust system to see how hard it would be to remove my headers... or manifolds.. w/e they are, by myself at home w/out lifting the engine... anyway i was under it when i noticed that the chrome extension on my exhaust pipe was not part of the system, it had small screws holding it on, so i went and un-screwed em and check it out, its a "racing" exhaust tip... and as far as i can tell it makes my exhaust sound 10xs better with it on than when i took it off. Its 11pm right now but ill get a pic of it later.

Does anyone know if these things help exhaust sound or do anything at all? lol

IMHO. looks like crap. a tip can actually make a car sound louder by causing the exhaust to echo in it. but mostly they are for show. like mine

It sounds alot better, i dont have a way to record it and put it on here.. i need to ask my dad for his camera.. but right now im having pulley problems.. dont even wanna start it... but it DOES sound good... and im glad thats your opinion.. lol kuz i think it looks pretty cool... but i cant wait to replace it with a catback lol

 

so you just found this bolted onto your tip? did someone put it there?!

 

noooo, like it was set all the way back so i couldnt really see it, then when i really took notice i found that i could unscrew it and set it down further making it sound even better.

 

what i would do is cut the stock exhaust off a few inches so it's less noticable. kind of try to tuck that thing under the bumer as much as possible

 

well... cut it if you have to but, just slide it back again until you can barely cover the end of the exhaust!

 

does it look that bad? jeez.... And another thing... i dont recall asking for your opinions... kuz i dont really care... but i wanted to know if anyone has any info on what the purpose/uses for a bolt on tip is...
