700 whp v6....WTF?
i heard a rumor from a freind that a dude has a near 700 whp v6. i now it sounds insane but this guy is credible. it is black with black y2k cobra wheels and a GT rear bumper. is this even possible from a streetable six. i know 450 to the wheels is possible and streetable, but 700 is out there. that dude has to be running some mad boost.
To my knowledge, there are NO streetable 700rwhp 4.6's out there currently (at least none that I've seen anyone on the net having). Lotsa 600+ rwhp cars, but none yet to ecliple that 700 mark. I hear that T&J is about to put the new KB 2.2L blower on a car and are "hoping" for 700.
if you consider running race gas streetable, there are plenty of cars doing it. i just woudlnt drive something on the street that required $4 something a gallon. im sure there are a few turbo cars doing it on pump gas tho....
Streetable? probably not, but possible. I saw a 1.8 ltr. 4 banger Ferrari putting out over 900 HP's.
As far as Nomo saying the block can't handle it. That's true at some point of boost, but it's not the block it's the internals that can't handle it. The 3.8 Ford block is concidered one of the beefiest in it's class, it's Ford that chokes it. I go to the dessert alot and a very high percentage of sand rail run boosted 3.8 Ford enginges because of the light weight to displacment ratio. It used to be VW air cooled engines, then Toyota got popular, but the most popular engines now are the American V6's for power and torque, ie: huge paddle tires. The imports are nice for rails but can't handle a load very well. I had an air cooled 2.0 ltr. VW engine in mine for years (great engine) but switched to a 3.8 in 2K. No power adder yet, but it kicks ***. You can see mine in the Glamis vid I posted. It's the one with the flames on the sides catching air over the dunes and on the drags.
By the way, one of the hottest and fastest rails where I go is a guy with a 3.8 Stealth twin turbo in it.
