Default Fuel System problems

my 2.3l is all messed up. when I throw full throttel, the it lags and the rpms begin to stop or just stay the same. But if I slowly push on the throttle it rev's fine. it Idles at like 900 rpm. and is idling rugh. I replaced the fuel filter thinking that was the case but its not. if any body has any ideas please let me know. im poor so I can't realy take it anywhere. I also unpluged my O2 sensor to see if that was the case it wasnt. I just cant figure it out it happened over night. it was working fine all day then that night it just decided to not work. it sux really bad.

Check for trouble codes, do a compression test, fuel pressure test, look at the plugs (or post a pic of em here). This is the best place to begin, if all checks out then keep looking.

Either use a code scanner (cheap like $30 bucks at a parts store) and plug it into the diagnostic port under the hood I think on your car off the main wiring harness theirs athe port on the drivers side (I think cant remember for sure). You could also use an analog ohmmeter and just a couple pins and save the $$ on the scanner.

it looks like im just going to take it to this place I herd they charge 20 bucks to look at the car. I'll have them do the diagnostics and I'll do the work. Im smart enough to replace the stuff. I just don't have a clue what to replace. thank you for the input. that is good to know I think I will buy one. are they universal??? because im plaining on buying a 5.0 will it work for that too???
