alrite so me and 3 friends were riding around in my v6 and we come to a light... then a chevy cobalt ss rolls up next to me and i could tell he would race because he had like a 1000 stickers on his car(which i heard gives you like 80hp)... so the light turns green and we go and he BEATS me by like 2 car lengths!!!! how?? can a stock one beat a v6??? or was it modded?? keep in mind that i have exhaust, cai, and a diablo tune...

 

SS! haha. those things are pretty fast. factory supercharged. you could beat a regular one but not an SS

 

well simply put, there are two versions of the cobalt ss. one is a 171 hp version that runs mid 15s stock and the other is a 205 (underrated) version that does high 14s with a good driver. so yes stock, they will own a 99-04 v6. at least the supercharged ones. plus you had 3 other friends in the car so it slowed you down. just curious, how much do your friends weigh each? and did the cobalt have a big *** wing on it? if so it was the supercharged one.

yeah but i looked up the specs on it and the SS only has 205 hp and 200 torque... so i would think mine would take it or at least be even... but i dont know, those stickers!!!

 

Gotta remember 2 other factors. 1 gear ratio, and 2, weight. Both advantages go to the Sloballs...

 

if you didnt have your three friends in the car he only would have had one car length on you or less id say... i can feel a pretty big difference in my car with just one of my friends in it...

 

yeah it had the wing... and i could tell it was supercharged because i could hear the winding... well one is like 200 and the other 2 are lik 180... so that could also be a factor... i also raced the new eclipse v6 that night..... and lets just say.. i wet my pants because that crap owned me.

 

its also underrated and is lighter than us i believe.

 

Excuse me?? I had his mods, plus 4.10 gears and a T-Lok, a 65mm throttle body with ported intake to match..and the best I ran was a 15.2. Now, I'm sure with a couple of more runs I could have hit 14.9ish. The stock supercharged Sloballs runs mid 14's..he was gonna lose either way.
