What Does A Shift Kit Do?
I got the shift kit (TransGo) off ebay for like $60 but I think you can get them from summitracing.com for like $100.
They say you can do it yourself but dont! too much to screw up. Have it done by a tranny shop that has done them before. Mine cost about $250 to get installed. It was well worth it.

Is it true that a tuner will do the exact same thing? I ask because I KNOW i'm going to be buying a tuner and if this is the case than i'll obviously just hold off on the shift kit because it would be useless. Unless of course a shift kit is better because it actually gives tighter shifts. (doesnt a tuner just remedy shift points and eliminate governer and rev limiter?)
Cars = $$$
Kronik, I feel that a Shift kit is better because it actually replaces stock tranny parts with stronger aftermarket parts allowing longer life and better resistance. While you can gain similar results with the tuner, its still a stock tranny.
Booze has both and I have heard him said knowing what he knows now, he would just get the tuner but I personally am happy with the kit and still plan to get a tuner in the next couple month. May want to ask Booze via PM though.
