Default HELP INFORMATION. HELP!!!!!!!

How many miles can I get out of a 3.8 liter motor out of a 98 mustang?

How well does it run?

What would you recomend doing to the motor to get more out of it and what approximately do you think it would cost?

thanks

My 98 has 236,000 on it now, and is showing no signs of fatigue. They run great, but they're not the quickest known to man, but since when is it supposed to be for performance anyway. Regular maintenance and not rodding the engine are the best ways to prolong the life. Do regular oil and filter changes and cooling system flushes. Just simple things. Drive the car like it's a six cylinder Mustang, not a Dodge Viper.

A) Depends on how well it's maintained. I've seen them go over 200,000 miles
B) Again, it depends on how well it's maintained. If it's kept up, it will run pretty good
C) See the TECH sticky at the top of the page. CAI from $25(E-bay elcheapo...not recommended) up to less than $200 for a K&N or MAC. Underdrive pulleys, around $200 or less, dual exhaust up to around $700, gears and a T-lok, around $1000 installed with a tuner and/or speedo cal gear, port intake and add a larger throttle body, around $600 or less. You can add N2O for around $500.00, supercharger for around $4000 installed, turbocharger(s), that cost depends on if you want single or twin..there's a lot you can do with a 6er.
