is the ford racing t lock any good?

For high powered applications - NO
For lightly to mildly moded sixers - YES

The basic reason that the T-Lok isnt as good is because it uses clutches that tend to wear out pretty quick. If Im not mistaken the Detroit and other heavy duty ones dont use clutches so they last a lot longer. Plus look at it this way, the T-Lok is basically a stock ford part where as the Detroit and such are the stronger after market counter-parts.

ya my buddies Mach 1 with the "stronger " 8.8" breaking at 15k or something liek that

I had about 250hp for about 30k and it was fine. My cousins friend has a 2004 Mach 1 with close to 600 hp and has his stock rear end 3.55's and stock t-lock. Other differentails that are "better" have clutches also but they are thicker and better
