squeaking from Engine...Help Plz!
OK.. My 2000 Mustang has been making squeaking noise from Engine for few weeks now, I did some reading on the forums and found out that most common problem is from bad belt, idler pulley, and tensioner pulley. Few days ago I got new gator back belt and both pulleys but squeaking noise didn't go away, I'm lost now.. If anyone has had this happen or has any ideas what I should do next let me know please. Thanks for your support and help.
What kind of squeak is it? Like an unoiled door hinge squeak, or a mouse squeak... its very possbile you could have a rat in ur car
When was the last time u had the oil changed or a service check up? A mechanic would probably beable to find ur problem better than we could guess it though.

First off, Gatorback belts suck. That could very well be the problem. Another common problem is for the belt tensioner to be weak, and if that's the case, the belt is squealing because it's loose.
most likely its the belt. is it like a *squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak*? if you replace it get the MOTORCRAFT belt. dont bother wasting money on aftermarket.
I always do my oil change befor 3k.. (I did it myself since I got the car in 2000) and I took it to two different shops and both mechanics told me that its the belt, but after getting a new belt spueaking sound didn't go away. If the tensioner is weak and its loose how do I make it tight? And Yes, it is like *squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak* I spay some WD40 on the both pulley but no luck.
ohh yeah! when i got my belt replaced, the noise didnt go away right away. in fact i had to drive around on it before it stopped making noises. how long have you driven on the new belt?
drive around on it somemore. mine took a few days to stop squeaking, like around 3 days, but in those 3 days the squeakin was less and less. idk why but eventually it should go away. if not, its definately something else.
