Default Expected gains from upgraded gears

It seems like pretty much everyone here is sold on gears as the first upgrade for a car, but how big of a difference do they really make by themselves? For argument's sake, let's say the 0-60 time with 4.10's as compared to the stock gears; about how much time would be shaved off?

for the records! They do not gain HP/TQ! lol (from a previous thread, dont worry about it) but it speeds up acceleration and shifts faster?is what ive taken from previous conversations, although im not 100% sure, everyone tells anyone who asks to buy them though.

He didnt ask if how much power he would gain, he asked how much faster he would get up to sixty. I'd say maybe 2/10s quicker for your 0-60, cuz I believe they usually shave a half a second or so off your quarter. And yeah, 98stallion, they speed up acceleration. The basic explanation is that they get you higher in the powerband faster, thus meaning you are getting to your full power sooner.

And Ive been around to see quite a few threads about it. You just gotta figure out who knows their stuff and who is making it up as they go. Once you do that, there is a lot of good info on this site.

we get a LOT of that on here. if someone doesnt know what theyre talking about or arent 200% sure, they shouldnt even be commenting and keep their mouth(well, fingers) shut. unfortunately, we have a LOT of that on this board....its kinda why a lotta the v6's get no respect tech-wise on the forum[>:]
