Default check engine soon light

for some reason my check engine light has popped on, since yesterday morning...

only thing i can think of that could be the problem, is i do need an oil change... which i will take care of this weekend. but the light has never came on for that reason before. also, this past weekend, i hit a bump too hard and knocked one of my flowmaster pipes (i have it dualed out) loose, so i had to get it welded back together. any suggestions or ideas? thanks in advance

Take it somewhere and get the codes read.. It could be a number of things, but nobody will know until you have the codes.

you could have knocked a sensor out of wack, go to a checker auto parts store, they should run the check engine test for ya for free and let ya know what it is

My friends came on a while back and he couldnt explain it either. When he took it in the code said that someone had broken into his car and tried to turn it on without the key. Somehow the mustang knows the key and turns on a shut down mode, making it impossible to turn on, until you put the key in it. It will turn on the light if that happens. I dont know if this is all true, but it is what the guys at the dealership told him. So check your car for any evidence of a break in.

im defnitely sure there wasnt a attempt to break in... its usually garaged, or within vision of myself or someone.
