air filter
You'll need a K&N recharger kit. You spray the cleaning chemical solution on the filter and then put the filter into a bucket of clean water, let it sit for about 10-15 minutes, take it out, rinse it for about 2 minutes, then put it back into the bucket, just make sure you got rid of the dirty water and put clean water into it, let the filter sit for about 5 minutes. Take the filter out, shake as much water as you can out of it, then put it in a sunny area and leave it for about 2-4 hours. Come back and then spray a fine layer of oil on the filter, then let it sit back in the sun for about an hour, then it's ready to go back in the car.

I just got my air compressor and blew out the dust and dirt.
You have to make sure you dont blow a hole in it though. I guess ^^^ that way is better, but my way takes a lot less time. lol
you gotta be careful with that...they say not to do that but if you do make sure you blow it out so the airflow is traveling out of the filter not inside...that way you wont be blowing **** farther into the cotton

That will work, but it still will not fully clean the air filter. I'm willing to bet that even after a good blow job
that if you spray the cleaning solution on and put it in water, you'll still have water that looks like mold is growing in it.

wait a second...a friend of mine sells bomz air filters on ebay, and theyre not K&N...they are very, very cheap knock offs...if its dirty, then its time to shell out another 5 bucks for a new one..not to "clean" it. many companies are now going away from the oiled air filters, and although K&N does recommend it, im not sure what would happen if you tried to use a K&N cleaning kit on an elcheapo air filter.
