Install UDP
I ordered the option A Motoblue pulley kit from rpmoutlet.com about 4 days ago. It should be coming in soon. I called a store up here and they said they would rent me a Harmonic balalancer puller for $139.99 and when i bring it back they will give me all of that back... so its kinda like loaning i guess. Well anyways i know this motoblue kit differs from the ASP pulley it has a waterpump pulley as well or somethiing like that that comes with it. Can anyone who has installed this before give me a little guide on taking off the old pulleys and belt and then putting on the new ones? It would be alot of help... thanks! Oh and also does this kit come with instructions?
I got the exact same kit, and yes the kit does come with instructions and all, but they are the worst instructions ive ever seen. But beware, the 2 pulleys will ship separately, so you wont get them at the same time. I say get them installed by someone else, like i did, which came to $70 altogether. If you dont have the correct tools, then you cant do it, which i didnt have. Overall, id say call a different place cuz $140 is too much.
Haha yeah the place is called Canadian Tire... you guys dont have it down in the states but up here in canada its one of the biggest stores around. Theyre a very big franchise. So yeahh i do trust them. i just hope i can do it mysellf even with the harmonic balancer puller...
to get the belt off all you need is a good wrench to pull the tensioner and then just slip the belt off, once you remove the belt, remove the stock water pump pulley(pulley above the crank pulley), then loosen the crank bolt(very hard), once thats out put your balancer puller in and begin to torque the balancer out, once the balancer is out, put your new balancer in, i would advise getting a new bolt with the same thread as the stock crank bolt, but longer to tighten your balancer enough so that your crank bolt will grab, once your stock crank bolt grabs, tighten and torque to spec, the rest is easy, just put everything back where it was...theres a good write up about this in the "how to" stickys, overall its a pretty straight forward installation, just that you need to be carful and follow the steps correctly...
