Default pypes

i am ready to get exhaust for my 04 3.9 V6 and i am considering a Pypes system with x-pipe and cat back.

i am curious as to what would hapen if i got the x-pipe without cats

i know i would probobly get a check engine light because of the O2 sensor and what side effects would i get as far as performance and how the car acts

would i need the cables to extend the O2 sensor

and i could use a SCT programmer to turn off the O2 sensor right

Umm yes you can turn it off with the programmer, and I'm not sure if taking the cats off will effect anything performance wise but it sounds better. Also if you have emissions in your state you will fail without cats.

im on the eastern shore i am 100 percent posotive you only get inspected when you go to get tags thats it unless the a F***ing state police officer want to be a dick and give you a inspection ticket because he thinks something on your car is not legal.

actually it looks like were both right, MD does have checks every 2 years, BUT apparenly only check the computer:
http://www.dmv.org/md-maryland/smog-check.php
The year of your vehicle determines what sort of testing it will undergo. Vehicles from the current two model years are exempt from the first round of testing. There are four varieties of analysis:

On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) Test

For vehicles of model year 1996 and up and weighing under 8,500 pounds.
What it does: Skips the tailpipe and exhaust completely and instead links into the vehicle's computer system (if it has one), searching for any sort of inconsistencies relating to the engine. If the Check Engine light blinks on at this point, things may not look so good for passing the test.
